Privacy & storage

Your bracket, in this browser.

You can participate without an account. A private browser cookie gives this browser access to its ballot. The server stores a keyed digest rather than the cookie secret. Picks and a non-secret browser scope marker are saved locally so interrupted work can resume. The cookie secret is not stored in localStorage.

Shared devices may share a ballot. Clearing cookies, using private browsing or switching browsers/devices can lose access or create another browser identity. We do not fingerprint or identify unique people. Infrastructure operators may process limited security metadata.

Accepted picks count on the server. Offline choices remain on this device and are not counted until accepted. If another tab changes the ballot, you must repeat the intended change against its latest version. Losing the cookie does not automatically resubmit saved picks as a new ballot.

Optional analytics

Optional engagement analytics is off until you choose to allow it. It records bounded page/node events, device class and coarse acquisition category. Reports use browser cohorts and suppress groups smaller than ten. Core picking and saving works with analytics declined.

Public shares

Creating a share publishes a frozen copy of that bracket at an unguessable link. Anyone with the link can view its choices and download its image. It contains no browser credential or administrator identity. Later edits do not change the copy. This browser can manage its links in Previous shares; clearing its cookie can lose that access. Revoking a share stops new reads from this site, but cannot remove downloaded or externally cached copies.

Local preview and launch policy

This local implementation is under review. Final retention, deletion and consent settings must be approved before a public launch. No public deployment has been made. Your browser’s site-data controls can remove local drafts, but removing local data does not itself retract already accepted server picks.
